How we work

We work closely with clients across a range of industries and sectors, adopting a collaborative approach to deliver practical solutions, tools and processes.

  • Our modular approach combines trusted tools with our commercial know-how to provide tailored solutions for our clients.

  • First steps typically include working with clients to establish their level of ambition and decision-making principles before promoting a consistent approach sustainability across the wider business.

  • We add value by identifying opportunities to link impact reduction to cost optimisation and to combine sustainability initiatives with commercial activation.

  • We manage risk by assessing exposure and identifying gaps and opportunities.

This process is intended to be transformative, building capability and confidence, which will enable our clients to continue their sustainability journey long after our work with them is completed.

Our projects

Here are the details of a few of our most recent projects

Topps Europe

Now owned by Fanatics, Inc, Topps Europe’s business is built around supplying sports and entertainment collectables to the global market.

Our initial work with Topps was to undertake a Sustainability Landscape Assessment to understand what had already been achieved and how this was being communicated. This enabled us to lead them through the development of a set of Ambitions and Principles on which to base their decision-making. As this process has been rolled out across the business through a series of workshops, we have been supporting Topps in developing both high level and functional Goals, Measures and Objectives, which will enable their business to evolve towards a more sustainable future. We continue to work with Topps on their communications strategy, to ensure a clear and consistent approach to communicating the journey they are on.

“The PurposePeople have given invaluable guidance and support on Topps’ Sustainability journey. June and Arthur’s expertise has been vital in defining the Ambitions & Principles to realise our Sustainability goals; providing great insight within an organised framework of workshops and interactive sessions tailored to our needs. The journey is a long one, but thanks to their guidance and knowledge, Topps Europe are moving towards the goal of incorporating better sustainable practices through all areas of the business.”

Rainbow Designs

Rainbow Designs design and create nursery and preschool soft toys and gifts to encourage early developmental skills and promote sensory play.

The Purpose People were engaged to support Rainbow Designs on their sustainability journey by working to embed sustainability throughout the organisation. Our work has included completion of a Sustainability Review providing context for change, including landscape assessment and strategy building, a marketing review of internal and external communications, with guidance on communicating about sustainability endeavours, as well as ongoing assistance and advice on carbon accounting and reporting. We are continuing to build in-house capability whilst implementing a process linking Rainbow’s purpose to defined Ambitions and decision-making Principles, informed by sustainability-led commercial Goals, Measures and Objectives to guide the business’s commercial decisions.

“The Purpose People have been a great help to me here at Rainbow Designs. They have given us the structure and confidence to enable us to logically create and promote our Rainbow Cares program. Thanks to them we have a greater understanding and confidence in what we are doing and are now proud of it. June and the team are so knowledgeable in all areas, they are an absolute wealth of intelligence and have been and continue to be a great support on our journey. We look forward to developing our relationship and working with them going forward to help us make the changes we would like to implement in our business.”
